Note on Goatmoth

I’ve only ever read about the goatmoth (Cossus cossus—it smells like a goat); I’ve never seen the short-lived adult or the long-lived larva.  I once put in a few years of insect collecting as a boy; but after that Nature came out of books, often from curious monographs.  This little piece is an equal thrust at human sensibilities and the grossness of empires.
