CONNECTIONS

                  Go to the ant, thou sluggard;

consider her ways, and be wise.

                                    Proverbs, vi, 6.

the termite mound is a lonely enter-

prise it does not call to any other

mound or apartment cone

within its horizon

it does not ask of its apparatus

why mr mound god or what is

the philosophical explan-

ation for the state i am in

it is a wise piece of clay it sticks to

what it is better at like underthrow-

ing houses in cornwall

ventilating its grille-

s and keeping its little foragers

nursery attendants dung sweepers

pincer parts walking sperm

packets and eggbag queen

alive it probably does not dream i

think it loves itself though but who

can tell it damages

the earth slower than us
